Day 1. QUITO
Arrival in Quito, reception and transfer to your choice of hotel. Dinner at your hotel.
Day 2. QUITO - ARASHA
After breakfast, transfer to Arasha, a fabulous tropical forest resort & spa located in one of the richest, bio diverse areas in Ecuador. It is located some two hours west of the Andean Mountain range. With its ecologically sensitive bungalows, Arasha offers its guests stress-relieving aromatic massages, Alphapacer Treatment (Anti-depressive & Relaxing Treatment), hydrotherapy and reflexology to educational ECO-tours and even making chocolate out of cacao seeds.
All meals are included and the day can be programmed in accordance with your preferences.
Day 3. ARASHA
Full day at the Arasha resort.
Day 4. QUITO - COTOCACHI
After breakfast, we leave our wonderful retreat and head east towards Cotocachi, and the marvellous La Mirage Garden Hotel and Spa, the only Relais & Chateux group member in Ecuador. After lunch, you will have an option to visit Cotocachi, the leather capital of Ecuador. If you prefer, you may wish to stay at La Mirage; with its elegant and unique covered Pool and Spa Area, decorated in Roman Style, La Mirage Spa offers 11 different types of massages and treatments, including reflexology and aromatherapy. Choose among the many spa treatments or just relax and enjoy the setting of the spa. Dinner and overnight accommodation.
Day 5. COTOCACHI
After breakfast, a visit to the condor reserve at Espejo. You may choose to play a round of golf at the 9-hole course at Yaguacocha or if you prefer, a little horse riding. Or why not simply enjoy more treatments at the Spa. Lunch, dinner and overnight accommodation.
Day 6. COTOCACHI - PAPALLACTA
After breakfast, transfer to Papallacta, an incredible natural spa, perched on a high Andean valley at the entrance of the "Cinnamon Trail", the same route that the Spanish conquistador Francisco de Orellana followed in 1542. The trail led to the discovery of the Amazon River and now serves as a gateway to the Ecuadorian Amazon region.
The resort places an emphasis on its therapeutic properties, offering its visitors onsite health and adventure. This includes taking enjoying the waters at the thermal springs, diverse treatments at the health spa, and possible walks in the Cayambe-Coca Ecological Reserve.
After lunch, a choice of spa treatments or something a little more strenuous, such as a visit to the Cayambe-Coca Ecological Reserve. This reserve is composed mainly by páramo, primary forests, rivers and lagoons. It is regarded as home to perhaps the greatest animal and plant diversity in Ecuador.
Hundreds of species of birds are found throughout the reserve and is very popular with ornithologists.

Day 7. PAPALLACTA - QUITO
After breakfast, free time to enjoy Papallacta before returning to Quito in the afternoon. Dinner at the Rincon La Rhonda restaurant.
Day 8. QUITO – BANOS
After breakfast, we start our journey south through the spectacular avenue of the Volcanoes. We shall pass Pasochoa, Ruminahui and Corazon volcanoes along this spectacular journey. After passing through Ambato, we will enter the Sangay National Park famous for its breathtaking view of Tungurahua Volcano. Transfer to the magnificent Luna Runtun, a hotel and spa nestled in fabulous countryside and with incomparable views of the volcano. Opportunities for further hikes, mountain biking, horse back riding or visit the countryside in the area of Sangay National Park, Llanganates National Park, the Pastaza Corridor, and “Gift to the earth". Perhaps you would prefer to just relax in the sauna and receive a full SPA treatment with massages using therapeutic properties of the ashes and volcanic stones of Tungurahua Volcano. Dinner at the hotel. Accommodation in a luxury lodge with fabulous views of the majestic countryside.
Day 9. BANOS
Full day at the Luna Runtun resort.
Day 10. BANOS - CUENCA
After a late breakfast we head east to Cuenca, the most beautiful city in Ecuador. Lunch enroute. Transfer to the Duran Hotel, a spa resort just on the outskirts of the town. Accommodation in a suite. Late afternoon guided sightseeing tour through colonial Cuenca; founded by the Spanish in 1557, the old centre has many churches and homes dating from the 16th and 17th centuries lining its cobblestone streets. With many beautiful churches and handicraft stalls as well as the famous flower market, Cuenca is also the cultural and arts centre of Ecuador. Return to the hotel for free time to relax in the pool, enjoy the sauna or perhaps a massage.
Day 11. CUENCA
Free day to enjoy the spa facilities of the hotel.
Day 12. CUENCA - QUITO
After breakfast, we shall transfer to the airport for the return flight to Quito and your connecting flight home. |
